My Beautiful Place

I saw the beautiful moon, shiny stars also the shiny light and a dog crossing the grass, love hearts and my love land. When I saw fat nice yummy strawberries, I ate some of them. I also drank some water to wash it down, it was nice.

I touched the flowers, beautiful hearts and an old tree. It felt like it was going to break.

When I ate the strawberries, they felt nice. I also felt flowers, water, stars and love hearts.

I smelt strawberries, flowers, water, stars and also love hearts but the worst thing was the dog smell. It smelled like fish and dog pooh.

What I heard was a dog barking, stars falling like shooting stars and also amazing hearts and lovely people talking. It was beautiful.

AND THAT IS MY BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

Using Google Maps

This is a map showing all of the stadiums in NZ where RWC games will be played. I went onto google maps and found each stadium. Then I put on blue pins so you can see where they are easily. I now know how to find places using google maps. I think google maps is good because it helps you find other places in New Zealand and around the world.

Describing Piri-Weepu

Romeo Sao

It was windy as I looked out from the stadium to see Piri Weepu...He was leading the haka when he looked at me he looked like a terrifying, brave warrior.

He looked like he had brown eyes, a tattoo, anger but nice on the inside, intimidating and looking like he’s going to explode.

The game stated in 1-min Piri Weepu zoomed across the field and past every one that was playing. They yelled out “Try!”

Mr Weepu is like a rocket. He sprints across for another try, but went to the ground from a tackle made by a samoa team player. Mr Weepu passed it to Richie then Richi passed it back to Mr Weepu. He got a try. Every one was yelling out “Go Piri Weepu!”

He is represents NZ proudly and is proud of his culture. He is caring towards other people and is also a good leader.

Japan Disaster

On Japanese Live, reporter Romeo, 2011, the 6th of June at 7 o’clock pm.
There was a catastrophic tsunami. It was very sad. It was a natural disaster - a force of nature. It is not good for people to be sick because they need to look after their families. We can see people on top of their houses. We saw a man trying to swim to a little boy. He looks 6 yearsold and 1.5m long. It was very sad. I was going to cry and other people were crying too. Water was smashing into the house like it was fighting. When people said “Are you OK?” and “Help!” Trees were snapping and power lines too. It smelled bad. The water smelled like sea weed and salt, smoke andwater too. I felt I was going to die but I felt that we’re not. I feel brave but I was panicking and afraid and terrified. Water was climbing into my shoes too but I know that we are just safe, so the water cannot get us. People are hoping for buildings to get back up and their houses. I said “Be brave, we have each other.” To everyone.

Layers of the Earth

WALT-Make a model of the layers of the earth out of play-dough.

So...that when we learn about natural disasters we can use our knowledge of the layers to understand them better.
To..... help us in topic and science and learn about the earth around us.

Crust - The crust is the tectonic plates around the world.

Mantle - The mantle is 400 km thick and it is made out of iron and  magnesium.

Outer-Core - The outer-core is 2300 km thick and is liquid, but contains iron, sulphur and nickel.

Inner-Core - Did you know that a Inner-core is 1220 km thick?  It is 6650 degrees Celsius!  That’s really hot!

The Day I Went Back In Time

I opened my eyes and couldn’t believe what I saw birds flying around me but suddenly a brave warrior killed a bird. The bird was cut and blood was coming out. The warrior was good at killing birds. I saw lots of things that amazed me. It was sad but everything I saw looked sick and poor and foggy, cold, dirty and damp too.

Then kids were playing around their mums and dads. Lots of boys spoke to me and I thought they said “Do you want to play with us?” But they actually just wanted me to eat, so I said “No thank you, I don’t like eating birds.” But they looked like they didn’t know what I was saying.

They looked like happy. I needed to go. I could smell wood also leaves, and I heard birds singing and poi swishing and it amazed me. I could smell fire, smoke, hangi, air, mud and dead plants hanging on the gate. Then I needed to go because it was time. But one more thing I loved was the plants that were crashing together like they were fighting like people. I said bye to every body and they said it in Maori.
