Wednesday - Grammar Punctuation worksheet

Writing worksheet: Re write the following sentence, add in the correct grammar, punctuation, full stops and capital letters:

For inquiry this term our class Is learning about state of matter. I have found out many things about the density, liquids, gases and solids and how matter of particular substances change when the temperature has changed.
For an example if this would be water when it has been frozen water become a solid because it and turns it into ice and when the room temperature water is a liquid when its  heated water becomes gas as it turns to steam. Another example would be chocolate. From learning about states of matter I know that the different materials have different densities. However not everyone knows what density “MEANS!” density is how tightly or closely the particles of a material are? I know that from our particle layer party experiment that honey and golden syrup are denser water than methylated spirit.
I like learning about matter because its’ interesting and helps me better to understand the way things work?

Lava Adventure

It all started when I was walking down the path made out of sand. All I saw was a volcano that was active. I was scared to death.
I ran as fast as I could to my family I said ‘We need to get out of here! A volcano is active and its going to blow!’  Mum said ‘Let me look at this - Whoa! Everyone on the boat now!’

The volcano blew up lava that went into the water. There was steam everywhere. We couldn't see at all! All we could taste was smoke and steam in our mouths.  We all heard something. It sounded like things are on fire. We all made it - even my baby sister made it. We were all safe. We went to find a place to live and food. At least we made it.

My Beautiful Place

I saw the beautiful moon, shiny stars also the shiny light and a dog crossing the grass, love hearts and my love land. When I saw fat nice yummy strawberries, I ate some of them. I also drank some water to wash it down, it was nice.

I touched the flowers, beautiful hearts and an old tree. It felt like it was going to break.

When I ate the strawberries, they felt nice. I also felt flowers, water, stars and love hearts.

I smelt strawberries, flowers, water, stars and also love hearts but the worst thing was the dog smell. It smelled like fish and dog pooh.

What I heard was a dog barking, stars falling like shooting stars and also amazing hearts and lovely people talking. It was beautiful.

AND THAT IS MY BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

Describing Piri-Weepu

Romeo Sao

It was windy as I looked out from the stadium to see Piri Weepu...He was leading the haka when he looked at me he looked like a terrifying, brave warrior.

He looked like he had brown eyes, a tattoo, anger but nice on the inside, intimidating and looking like he’s going to explode.

The game stated in 1-min Piri Weepu zoomed across the field and past every one that was playing. They yelled out “Try!”

Mr Weepu is like a rocket. He sprints across for another try, but went to the ground from a tackle made by a samoa team player. Mr Weepu passed it to Richie then Richi passed it back to Mr Weepu. He got a try. Every one was yelling out “Go Piri Weepu!”

He is represents NZ proudly and is proud of his culture. He is caring towards other people and is also a good leader.

Japan Disaster

On Japanese Live, reporter Romeo, 2011, the 6th of June at 7 o’clock pm.
There was a catastrophic tsunami. It was very sad. It was a natural disaster - a force of nature. It is not good for people to be sick because they need to look after their families. We can see people on top of their houses. We saw a man trying to swim to a little boy. He looks 6 yearsold and 1.5m long. It was very sad. I was going to cry and other people were crying too. Water was smashing into the house like it was fighting. When people said “Are you OK?” and “Help!” Trees were snapping and power lines too. It smelled bad. The water smelled like sea weed and salt, smoke andwater too. I felt I was going to die but I felt that we’re not. I feel brave but I was panicking and afraid and terrified. Water was climbing into my shoes too but I know that we are just safe, so the water cannot get us. People are hoping for buildings to get back up and their houses. I said “Be brave, we have each other.” To everyone.
